With a mission to improve health outcomes for the local Aboriginal community, the AWAHS Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service Scholarship at Charles Sturt University is offered to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students commencing studies in Health and Rehabilitation, Speech Pathology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Podiatric Medicine on the Albury-Wodonga Campus.

The AWAHS scholarship provides approximately $3,330 per year over three years, totaling $10,000. The funds can be used for costs associated with university study.
Who can Apply for AWAHS – Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service Scholarship
- Any Australian/New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident who has applied for admission to Charles Sturt University or who is enrolled in a Charles Sturt course. Both on-campus and online students are eligible unless otherwise stated in individual scholarship criteria
- Any international students who are classified as international students in Australia with either a full unconditional offer from CSU to study in Australia or continuing enrolment as a full-time student at a Charles Sturt University campus. The exemption is scholarships involving work placement due to citizenship requirements for work purposes.
Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the AWAHS scholarship, applicants must be:
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students commencing study within the School of Community Health or the School of Nursing, Midwifery & Indigenous Health on the Albury-Wodonga campus.
- Be commencing any course in the School of Community Health and School of Nursing, Midwifery & Indigenous Health
- A resident of the AWAHS area (within an approximately 100km radius of Albury-Wodonga)
- Possess a sound academic record.

Charles Sturt University Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service Scholarship
- A scholarship value of $10,000 will be paid as $3,333 per annum over three years pending ongoing enrolment and a satisfactory GPA is maintained.
- This scholarship comes with priority work placement opportunities and ongoing mentoring.
- The recipient will have the opportunity for paid work placement during university holidays.
- Full-time employment opportunities at AWAHS following completion of studies.
