However, many of the MPOWER Financing Scholarships comes with restrictions and entry fees that limit accessibility, but MPOWER created scholarships that are widely accessible to international students. Who Can Apply for MPOWER Scholarships?
You’re eligible to apply to an MPOWER scholarship if you’re:
- Accepted at, or enrolled in, a full-time degree program at the U.S. or Canadian school that MPOWER supports.
- An international student is allowed to legally study in the U.S. or Canada.
- Excited to share your dream with the MPOWER team and the world.
Current Ongoing MPOWER Scholarships for International Students
MPOWER is proud to offer scholarships for international students to help fund their education and dreams. MPOWER international student scholarships are designed to help support future leaders and help as many students as they can.
Below is the list of the available scholarships you can apply for
MPOWER Global Citizen Scholarship
This scholarship is for students who are currently enrolled or accepted to study full-time degree programs at a school MPOWER supports.
- Deadline: October 15, 2021
- Awards: $5,000, $2,000, $1,000
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be accepted at, or enrolled in, a full-time degree program at the U.S. or Canadian school that MPOWER supports, and
- Be an international student allowed to legally study in the U.S. or Canada, as applicable:
- For study in the U.S., this means that the applicant meets one of these criteria:
- Has a valid visa that permits study in the U.S.
- Is protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)
- Is a U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder)
- For study in Canada, this means the applicant meets one of these criteria:
- Is a Canadian permanent resident
- Has a valid Canadian study permit
MPOWER Women in STEM Scholarship
MPOWER financial Scholarships are awarded annually to female international/DACA students who are currently enrolled or accepted to study full-time in a STEM degree program at a program MPOWER supports in the United States or Canada
- Deadline: January 15, 2022
- Awards: $3,000, $2,000, $1,000
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be accepted at, or enrolled in, a full-time degree program at the U.S. or Canadian school that MPOWER supports, and
- Be an international student allowed to legally study in the U.S. or Canada, as applicable:
- For study in the U.S., this means that the applicant meets one of these criteria:
- Has a valid visa that permits study in the U.S.
- Is protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)
- Is a U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder)
- For study in Canada, this means the applicant meets one of these criteria:
- Is a Canadian permanent resident

MPOWER Monthly Scholarship Series
The MPOWER monthly scholarship series is always updated on the first day of each month. September’s scholarship will be awarded to refugee and asylee students in honor of the crisis in Afghanistan. Any international students with the visa status of refugee or asylee who are currently enrolled or accepted to study full-time at a school MPOWER supports may apply.
- Deadline: Last Friday of every month
- Awards: $1,000, $500, $500
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be admitted to, or enrolled in, a full-time degree program at the U.S. or Canadian school that MPOWER supports, and
- Be an international student permitted to legally study in the U.S. or Canada, as applicable:
- For study in the U.S., this means that the applicant meets one of these criteria:
- Has a valid visa that permits study in the U.S., or
- Is protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)
- For study in Canada, this means the applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Has a valid Canadian study permit
- Social media eligibility criteria:
