Beit Trust Postgraduate Scholarships for International Students application form is out for an interested candidate who wishes to study at the University of Leeds and other partner universities in the UK for the 2022/2023 academic session.

Beit Trust Scholarships provides numerous awards and is open to candidates domiciled in Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe to embark on a one-year taught Master’s program that meets the objectives of the program to provide long-term benefit for their own nation, with the exception of the Master’s of Business Administration (MBA).

Benefits of Beit Trust Postgraduate Scholarships for International Students

  • Fees, tuition expenses, and related academic expenditures. These are paid by the Trust straight to the universities.
  • A personal stipend, index-linked in agreement with guidance from an independent authority, covering maintenance support.

Beit Trust Postgraduate Scholarships Eligibility Criteria

  1. By Act of Parliament, the Beit Trust supports ONLY students who are nationals of Zambia, Zimbabwe, or Malawi, who hold permanent residence, live there, and/or intend to return to their country after their studies.
  2. Applicants (except medical and veterinary doctors) must be under 30 years of age on 31 December 2020. Some experience of work after completion of a first degree is strongly recommended.
  3. Doctors and Vets must be under 35 years of age on 31 December 2020. They should have completed 18 months of internship, and a one-year, preferably rural, posting in Malawi, Zambia or Zimbabwe.
  4. The Trust cannot consider applications from those who have already begun a course.
  5. The Trust will only consider applicants with First Class/Distinction or Upper Second Class degrees (or equivalent) at the undergraduate level.

Beit Trust Postgraduate Scholarships Partner Universities

The Beit Trust has partnership agreements with the universities below. This enables the Trust to share costs, and to increase the number of scholarships it can fund. For this reason, only applicants with acceptances from the universities listed below will be eligible for Beit Trust Scholarships

There are seven Partner Universities in the United Kingdom:

  1. Cambridge – 2 Scholarships available
  2. Edinburgh – 2 Scholarships available
  3. Glasgow – 2 Scholarships available, bio-medical disciplines only
  4. Leeds – 5-6 Scholarships available
  5. Oxford – 2 Scholarships available
  6. St Andrews – 2 Scholarships available, computer science only
  7. Strathclyde – Engineering disciplines only

How to Apply for Beit Trust Scholarships

The next round of Beit Trust Scholarships at the University of Leeds will be granted for the academic session beginning September 2021 for universities in the UK.

The process for applying for a Beit Trust Scholarships is as follows:

  1. Only citizens of Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi, who are also inhabitant in and intend to return to those nations, are qualified to apply;
  2. It takes a one-year taught Master’s Degree (to UK universities) for application, and a two-year taught Master’s in South Africa;
