The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Scholarships study programme is designed to support brilliant and motivated overseas applicants who wish to commence an undergraduate or graduate degree coursework at a university in Canada.

Commonwealth of Independent State Scholarship Eligibility

  1. Acceptable Nationalities: Albania, Azerbaijan, Belarus, the Czech Republic, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia.
  2. Available Course: Any course area in the undergraduate or graduate degree coursework
  3. Admissible Criteria: To be qualified, the candidates must be classified as international students then must be admitted to any academic program at the university for the upcoming year.

Commonwealth of Independent State (CIS) Scholarships Application

  • Application Process: To grasp this opportunity, candidates must log in to the university’s portal and complete the application process. After enrolling, they can apply separately for the award through the application form
  • Supporting Documents: The candidates must submit the following necessary documents:
    1. Transcripts in English of the previously attended academic courses
    2. 2-3 Letters of Recommendations from past employers/ Academic professionals/Counsellors
    3. Personal Statement
    4. Passport ID pages
    5. Financial statement or Sponsorship documents
  • Admission Requirements: The students must submit ACT or SAT scores to get admitted in any
  • undergraduate degree programs and GRE or GMAT scores for graduate degree programs.
  • Language Requirement: Aspiring students must obtain minimum required scores on the following English language proficiency tests:
    1. TOEFL IBT – 79
    2. IELTS – 6.5

Additional Requirements: An international student who is a resident of an approved Commonwealth of Independent State (CIS) country and has been admitted to an academic program for the upcoming school year. $1,000 to be awarded in semester 1, and an additional $1,000 in semester 2 if the student maintains an 80% average.

  2. Proof of English Proficiency (if applicable)
  3. Complete the application form before the first day of classes

Note: Students applying for Entrance Scholarships are only eligible for one Entrance Scholarship per term.

Scholarship Merits

The eligible and winning students will receive $2,000 towards their respective studies in the chosen field for the duration of the program.
