Applications for the Holland Scholarship for International Students at the University of Groningen, Netherland 2022-23 are currently ongoing. The University of Groningen offers Holland Scholarships to international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who want to do their master’s in Holland.
The Holland international scholarship is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science and Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences.
The Holland Scholarships is meant for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA = the EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway) who wish to pursue a Master’s degree in the Netherlands.

Holland Scholarship for International Students Eligibility criteria
To qualify for the Holland Scholarship University of Groningen:
- You do not hold the nationality of one of the EEA countries;
- You are going to study in the Netherlands;
- You do not have a degree from an educational institution in the Netherlands;
- You have excellent grades during your bachelor/undergraduate studies;
- You meet the specific requirements of the University of Groningen;
- You have a letter from the University of Groningen with an admission offer for one of the programmes mentioned in this list.
- Write a motivation letter in which you make clear why you are the right candidate for the Holland Scholarship University of Groningen.
Holland International Scholarship Amount
The scholarship amounts to € 5,000, € 10,000 or € 15,000. You will receive this in the first year of your studies, even if you are enrolled in a two year programme.
How to Apply for Holland Scholarship 2022-23
After submitting an application (or applications) for an HS eligible Master’s programme, before the determined deadline, non-EU/EEA students have the option to submit an application for the Holland Scholarship from 1 November 2021.
You will see the HS application(s) in your Osiris Online Application account dashboard.
Click View/edit for the HS linked to the programme you wish to apply for, answer the questions and upload the requested documents.

If you are going to apply: The deadline for the first call is 1 February 2022 (23:59 CEST). It is also possible to apply for a second call. All applicants for the second call will be placed on the reserve list. You can apply for this second call between 2 February 2022 and 1 May 2022 (23:59 CEST). You can only apply for one call (first or second call).
