The UNCF Northern Ohio Inter-Alumni Council with the support of the Cleveland Council of Black Colleges Alumni Association is proud to announce the availability of the Northern Ohio Scholarship 2023-2024 application form to interested applicants.
This UNCF Northern Ohio scholarship opportunity, which is funded by the support of the area HBCU alums along with other local benefactors, is offered to current high school seniors, college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who are permanent residents of northern Ohio.
Special consideration will be given to students who attend or have attended Shaw High School East Cleveland, OH.

UNCF& HBCU Northern Ohio Scholarships Mission
- To create and maintain in the alumni of HBCUs an abiding sense of personal commitment, and individual responsibility for, the health and welfare of the historically black college and the increased effectiveness of the N.O. IAC in assuring the viability of historically black higher educational institutions.
- To establish and pursue objectives that will result in a fraternalistic and helping spirit among and friends of HBCUs.
- To work with a cooperative spirit with the local UNCF area office.
UNCF Northern Ohio Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
Students must have:
- A 2.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale
- Attending or matriculating at an accredited UNCF or HBCU in fall 2023
- Students must complete the FAFSA and have a need
Required Documents for Northern Ohio Scholarship 2024 Application
Program Applicant must submit a:
- Completed online application for the program
- Completed reference form (submitted directly by the recommender)
- 500-word scholarship essay outlining career narrative outlining career aspirations, leadership experiences, and most significant achievements
