The Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship Programme is the first scholarship of its kind in Wales and is funded by the Global Wales Programme – a partnership between the Welsh Government, Universities Wales, The British Council, and HEFCW.
The Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship programme 2022-2023 offers scholarships worth up to £10,000 – to study a full-time masters programme in Wales. The scholarships are available to students from Vietnam, India, the USA, and countries of the European Union.
All universities offer scholarships under the scheme, and you need to have already applied for a place to study an eligible postgraduate programme before they submit your Global Wales Postgraduate scholarships application.
The Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship Programme Brief Description
- Scholarship Amount: £10,000
- Number of Scholarships: One scholarship is available under this scheme through Bangor University.
- Eligible Countries: Vietnam, India, the USA, and countries of the European Union. View the full list of countries here.

- Study Level: Postgraduate Taught – A one-year Masters course studied on a full-time basis beginning in September 2022. Please see a list of our September entry masters courses here.
Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarships Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this year’s Global Wales Postgraduate scholarships, you must:
- Have submitted an application to study an eligible postgraduate programme at one of the following Welsh Universities:
- Aberystwyth University
- Bangor University
- University of Wales Trinity St David
- Wrexham Glyndwr University
- You must be classed as an overseas student for fee-paying purposes, and from either Vietnam, India, the USA, or a country in the European Union.
- You must have submitted an application to study at any of the above Universities for a Master’s programme starting in 2022 before applying for the Global Wales Postgraduate scholarship
How to Apply for The Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship 2022-2023
- Step 1: Check your eligibility for the scholarship and carefully read the conditions.
- Step 2: You will need to have submitted an application to study at any of the above-mentioned universities before your Global Wales Postgraduate scholarship application can be considered.
- Step 3: Complete the application form on the Study in Wales website. You will need to include your University application number with your scholarship application. Applications submitted with invalid application numbers will not be considered.
Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship for International Students Application Deadline:
Applications for the Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship programme must be received by: TBC
The successful applicant will be notified by email after the deadline has passed. If you receive an offer of a scholarship, you will be asked to review and sign a scholarship contract. Failure to return this documentation by the deadline set will result in the University offering the scholarship to someone else.
