The West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) under the sponsorship of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is pleased to announce the application for WASCAL Master Scholarships 2021-2022 for Students from ECOWAS Countries to apply for 2021 admissions into international Master’s Programme in Energy and Green Hydrogen technology.
The 2021 WASCAL Master Scholarships is purely for students who want to pursue International Master’s Degree in Energy and Green Hydrogen Technology. It is a fully-funded scholarship.
About WASCAL Master Scholarships 2021
Firstly, the scholarship is programmed to last for 24 months. However, the WASCAL Master scholarship is for students with B.sc in Physics, Biochemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Statistics, or related areas.
Secondly, Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH and RWTH Aachen University, Germany, are in partnership to run the scholarship programme .
The sponsor is the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Germany (BMBF). Their primary aim is to prepare and train a new generation of interdisciplinary. Also, the programme consists of four specializations and would be run in lead universities.
firstly, in Togo, where the University of Lomé will run Bioenergy/biofuels and Green Hydrogen Technology. However, the University of Felix Houphouet Boigny. Ivory Coast will, however, host Green Hydrogen Production and Technology/Georesources (Wind/Water) and Hydrogen Technology.
Also, the University of Abdou Moumouni, Niger will host photovoltaic and System Analysis for Green Hydrogen Technologies. And lastly, the University of Cheikh Anta Diop, Senegal, will host Economics/policies/Infrastructures and Green Hydrogen Technology.
Professor Daouda Kone spoke highly of the scholarship and how it contributes to preparing West African future leaders to win the green energy campaign and climate change battle.

WASCAL Scholarships 2021 Eligibility Requirements
The following are the eligibility requirements for anyone who wishes to apply for the WASCAL Master scholarship 2021/2022 academic session.
- The candidate must be from any of the ECOWAS countries.
- The candidate must have B.sc in any of the following disciplines;
- Physics.
- Biochemistry.
- Mechanical Engineering.
- Electrical Engineering.
- Electronic Engineering.
- Statistics, or related areas.
With the above requirement, the candidate is qualified for the WASCAL Master Scholarships application.
