The #YouAreWelcomeHere scholarship recognizes international students who have a vision for enhancing intercultural understanding. Shoreline Community College will award two annual, renewable scholarships (up to two years) covering a minimum of 50% tuition (approximate value of $4,626 per year).
Participating colleges and universities will each offer two annual, renewable scholarships that cover a minimum of 50% tuition to selected international undergraduates dedicated to furthering the #YouAreWelcomeHere message.

Applicants for the You Are Welcome Here Scholarship for International Students are required to either answer a short essay question or present a multimedia project about their ideas for applying their leadership skills on their future campuses.

- Be a first-year international applicant in any field of study/major to a participating college or university
- Applicant demonstrates interest and initiative in promoting intercultural learning and exchange.
- The applicant meets the admission criteria and adheres to the deadlines at each college or university.
- Applicants must complete the YAWH scholarship application and a 500-1000 word essay or a two-to-five minute video*

- Application Process: Apply for admission at participating colleges/universities of your choice. Please note that admissions processes
vary from institution to institution. Please contact your chosen college/university for additional details. - Submit the one-page #YouAreWelcomeHere application to your chosen colleges/universities by your institutions’
deadline. - Supporting Documents; The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
- Official high school transcripts
- Student visa
- Essay
- Admission Requirements: The students require a minimum 3.5 GPA, ACT scores 23-29, or SAT score 1110-1280 to get into MSU.
- Language Requirements: The students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
- TOEFL – 79
- IELTS – 6.0
- PTE – 53

The successful students will be awarded $25,000 towards tuition annually renewable up to eight semesters for 4 years by the Michigan State University.
